20 Jun 2018 LOOK AT THIS BRICK PAVING AT GUNDSØMAGLE PARISH HALL
We had the official hand-over today – and the project look exactly as we imagined!
The project is courtyard between the old parish hall and the newly built extension. We choose the beautiful Gotland brick in an extra long format, and it was definitely the right material to tie together new and old. It fits perfectly in the historical environment at Gundsømagle Church.
It was a difficult brick to lay with carefully designed edges and graduated in the grass, but the crew from Møller&Løkkegård has done a great job. Now we are just waiting for the grass to fill in the bare patches and for the tree to grow older.
This small project consists of a few carefully selected elements of high quality, where the brick paving is the most prominent. The brick paving will last and look just a good in 50 years. Together with the oak tree it will provide the perfect setting for many important events.
We have used the Gotland brick in two other project. It forms a new modern but classical entrance to Lejre Museum where it fits well with the historical building with thatched roof. At Skousbo Climate Neighborhood it sets the standard for a new modern suburb of high quality.
