Our proposal, “Mere Landskab, Mere By – A Blue-Green Landscape First Strategy for the Transformation of the Capital Region”, has been awarded shared second place in the Fingerplan 2.0 competition.

Our vision places the natural environment at the core of urban transformation.

By prioritizing green and blue corridors, we propose a resilient, climate-adapted strategy where nature, biodiversity, and social equity can thrive in harmony.

The strategy is built around five key actions:

A: Creating a regional coast-to-coast landscape park.

B: Strengthening existing settlements within the park landscape.

C: Developing suburbs as 15-minute, climate-resilient cities with a strong green identity.

D: Repurposing the Ring 3 areas with station-adjacent five-minute urban zones and transforming highways into green boulevards.

E: Adopting an “embrace nature” approach to sea level rise by widening coastal zones to increase the distance from the water.

We look forward to engaging in future discussions on a new planning guide for the Greater Copenhagen region.

The Fingerplan 2.0 competition was initiated by Arkitektforeningen with financial support from Dreyers Fond.
