MASU Received a Recognition Award in the international open competition for an innovative sustainable masterplan for Keldnaland, Reykjavik.

The City of Reykjavík and Transport for the Capital Area (TfCA) launched an open, international competition for the development of Keldnaland. The 2 stage competition intended to find high-quality proposals that would set an example regarding sustainability and quality of living for Reykjavik’s future Neighborhood.

A new model for urban living and nature

The masterplan aims to provide a sustainable urban living experience where health, nature, and community are at the forefront.
The future carbon-neutral neighbourhood combines diverse typologies, programming, and densities, catering for a cohesive community promoting social mixing, affordability, and sustainability.
In short, Keldur’s masterplan promises urban density, diverse living options and vibrant meeting places. All designed to make Keldur a new, liveable, sustainable model while preserving large natural areas.
